October 17-18, 2022
October 18-21, 1992 Almaty hosted the First World Congress of Spiritual Concord attended by world religious confessions, famous spiritual leaders, educators from Russia, USA, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, India and the CIS countries.
In the adopted Manifesto of the First Congress participants called to declare October 18 as Day of Spiritual Accord – the day of a moratorium on conflicts and collisions, a day of seeking reconciliation, the establishment of mutual understanding between people, day of mercy and assistance to neighbor. Since then, each year October 18 is celebrated in Kazakhstan as the Day of Spiritual Concord and is a socially significant date.
On January 28, 2021, during the expanded meeting of the General Council of the International Union of NGOs “Eurasia Nations Assembly”, it was decided to approve October 18 as the Day of Spiritual Concord of the Eurasia Nations Assembly and to envisage an annual celebration of the Day of Spiritual Concord.
This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of those important historical decisions that marked the beginning of the Spiritual Accord Movement, which has become an important state holiday in Kazakhstan and, subsequently, an international day called to assert the primacy of spirituality, peace and concord over all other aspects of human life.
We are not only summing up the outcomes, looking back over the past years and assessing what we have been able to realize from what we have planned. First of all, taking into account the challenges, tragic events and ultra-anxiety modus in which humanity finds itself in recent years, we wish to revisit the search for relevant and effective mechanisms of sustainable development of human civilization, where the spiritual-moral principle becomes the main prerequisite for the survival of our planet.
The Anniversary Conference will be held on October 17-18 this year at the Palace of Peace and Concord in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The Conference will be held in a hybrid (online/offline) format.
Organizers: Nur-Sultan City Administration (Akimat), “Peace through Culture” IA, Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interconfessional and Inter-Civilization Dialogue NJSC.
International experts, spiritual leaders, political and cultural figures from Kazakhstan and foreign countries will attend the Conference.
Soon, we will publish the events Agenda.
