As you know, the International Organizing Committee for the preparation of the Second World Forum of Spiritual Culture and the International Association “Peace through culture”
As you know, the International Organizing Committee for the preparation of the Second World Forum of Spiritual Culture and the International Association “Peace through culture” have been conducting preparations to hold the research and practice conference titled “Spiritual Culture: a strategy for life and peace” on 17-18 October 2015 in Astana. We are profoundly grateful to all those who showed interest in this event, and accepted an invitation to participate in it.
However, our life brings changes to our plans. The economic crisis, aggravated at the end of August, has caused instability in the financial markets, a sharp rise in prices and weakened a number of national currencies (including the Kazakhstani tenge). Under these circumstances, many sponsors, who had always provided selfless assistance to Kazakhstani non-governmental organizations, found themselves deprived of this opportunity. All these have forced us to take a difficult decision and change the format of the upcoming event.
On 17 - 18 October in Astana, we will not hold the scheduled large-scale research and practice conference; we will conduct the meeting of the International Organizing Committee of the WFSC. Due to the abovementioned reasons, today the organizers have no financial means to cover the costs of the guests to stay in Astana. We will cover air tickets, accommodation and meals, transportation, tours, etc. only for the members of the WFSC Presidium and the International Organizing Committee. You can find their names listed on the official website of the WFSC.
However, the forthcoming meeting is open to all interested persons, ready to arrive in Astana at their own expense. From our part, we will provide them assistance regarding accommodation and meals in Astana city on the most favorable terms.
In October, the International Organizing Committee shall take a number of decisions of key importance: the date and venue of the Second World Forum of Spiritual Culture, its theme, goals and objectives, the program documents submitted to the Forum, number of its participants, quotas for certain countries, and so on. In this connection, we ask you to update your speeches, prepared for the conference, focusing on the most urgent problems to be resolved at the Forum.
Taking into account all the changes that took place, we ask you once again, dear colleagues, to consider the possibility of your participation in the Astana meeting, and give your response by 17 September 2015. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Co-Chair of the World Forum of Spiritual Culture,
